If anybody knows me at all well, my friends being the brunt of this so called 'anxiety inducing' behaviour, I will suddenly exclaim 'what's that?' and veer off the planned route when walking, down some weird looking alleyway in hope of something odd looking photograph. This is vexing to my friends, who wait patiently for my return. One day, I really should put my drama skills to the test, by running out with fake blood all over my face, staggering and shouting "There's something back there, RUN!". Such a debut act would certainly sift out the friends who have no sense of humour.
So, one day I'm by myself, seeing a man about a horse (Yes, really...) and I notice a cordoned off area with official looking signs which I did not read. For all I know it could have said "Risk of instant death" "land mines" "Trespassers will be shot yadda yadda blah blah blah" This is irresistible to me, especially when I'm carrying my camera. Naturally, I case the joint and squeeze through a teeny tiny gap in the fencing. I turn the corner and I am greeted by this:

I know! Creepy, right!? If you think that is creepy, wait until you see the inside of this place. I exclaimed "Oh. Hell. No!" nearly took off running. While I was outside, The light was bright enough to keep the ghosts and ghouls at bay and all was hunky dory
That door beckoning me to go in and have a mooch around. Most of my friends would have read the signs and gone no further, which is fair enough.
This place is HUGE! It's an abandoned farm yard/house which, by the looks of things, has been a ruin site since the turn of the century. I'll show the pictures in the order I wandered around the place.

There was lots of peeling paint.
Lots of doorways to explore. At this point, I felt fine and no feeling of being watched, all thanks to the glorious daylight.
At this point I'm thinking "What an odd place to have a chair...was there an interrogation...uh oh, there goes the beginning of my rampant imagination"
It was down hill from there.
It was down hill from there.
Now it starts to get creepy. After having a tentative mosey around I finally decide to pluck up the courage to go through those gaping and cavernous doors that threatened to swallow me whole. I genuinely thought I'd come across a dead body all bloated and rotten. I did. It was horrible. I will need therapy for the rest of my life after seeing the following:
I then discovered a slat in some wooden wall. Part of me is glad I ventured through. Part of curses my curiosity with such vehemence, because I think I am addicted to abandoned places now. The combination trepidation and the thought of seeing something moving up ahead is utterly dizzying.
I turned a corner made me suddenly freeze. I have seen way to many horror films to be comfortable with this situation. I very carefully walked on, my heart had altogether stopped.

I thought I'd got myself well and truly lost but then found the slat again. Words cannot describe the eeriness that place exudes. The further you go in, the temperature drops and silence is penetratingly thick. To see and feel sunlight again made me well and truly alive.
