I could not belive my Luck when, one evening, I decided to go off my usual beaten path and explore one of the local towns. I'd seen a path from the top deck of a bus, and always wondered how to get onto it. I managed it and walked down the path. It's not a particularly attractive path. It has it's dog walkers and mandadtory tunnels and lamposts.
Like I said, nothing special, even the graffiti is rubbish. So there's me, sauntering on down the path, arms swinging, when my eye gets caught by a big glistening thing.
So I go round the side and climb a tree to see over the anooyingly placed fence and I am greeting by cars that are twisted and crushed into what can only be described as the shape screams.
Once I manage to gingerly clamber over the contorted metal, the view beyond the cars is just breath taking. Cars look like they are leaping over cards, glass shards lie everywhere, the sun glints off the metal, giving the place a magical feel.
I worked my way round to the other side and made absolutely sure that the place was empty, I was not going to get arrested that night, and the last thing I wanted to do was run at skin tearing and blood splurging speed over all those cars in a mad and panicked dash to get out of this twisted photographic carnival of car remnants. I did not want to fall head first into one of these many pit falls lined with glass and metal that could decapitate you before you hit the bottom. No thanks, my mother would be furious at me for such tomfoolery.
The rest of the place had a glum feel to it, there were shards of peoples' lives scattered all over the place, replacing dead flies.
Sweetie wrappers lay crumpled next to discarded wishes.
There was something different to look at everywhere I laid my eye.

Everywhere I turned, the walls vomited contorted metal.
The wild animals have encapsulated their passing through on timeless classics.
I found a nice spot to have my bottle of beer and take in the sun drenched serenity of my new favourite place. Then I left, covered in mud, with a camera, that has been ignored and abandoned for a year, brimming with images.
